A logo appears on the TV screen announcing Desert Warfare Wrestling
A video montage begins as “Seal the Deal” by Volbeat starts and we get a montage of action throughout the year of Desert Warfare wrestling. Finally the screen shows the name of the event “ Majestic cinemas and Empireshop.com present Final Warfare. We go inside the arena where thousands of fans are cheering as 8 wrestlers stand in the ring.
Wolfman Chaney- Welcome to Desert Warfare's biggest and final event of 2021, Final Warfare! Tonight we will crown the man who will ride into 2022 as the Warfare champion, a title you can't lose and that means you are this company's top guy.
Reverend Odom- This event is so big, we finally decided to rent out the Footprint Center tonight to accomdate all the fans. Not just fans here, with as many guys have gone onto great things from this federation I've personally talked with scouts from all the major players around the world.
Wolfman Chaney- Tonight, along with the 8 man Warfare title tournament, we will feature special matches featuring Conner Edge defending the Empire TV title against Marvin “Roadblock” Hinton and a special tag team match pitting 2/3 of the Empire six man champions, Godzilla Sanchez and Maverick Edge battling Tank's recent touring pals, The Buford Brothers, “Diabetes” Darryl and Big Bastard Burford. But now, lets go to the ring.
Painkiller by Judas Priest plays on the speakers as owner of Desert Warfare, Tank Edge comes to the ring in a business suit and carrying a hat. He salutes the fans as he gets into the ring and grabs a mic.
Tank Edge- Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for Warfare? (Thunderous appaluse greats him and he smiles.) Now is time for the drawing of the opponents. Through a complicated process we picked four names in the back, who will now draw their first round opponent from this hat. First up, “The Las Cruces Fire Pepper” Cody Hobbs.
A man looking like he's trying to be in A Flock of Seagulls walks up and draws a card out of the hat and hands it to Tank.
Tank Edge- Cody Hobbs will face his stablemate in the Nighthawks, “The Daywalker” Peckham!
A man dressed like a vampire from an 80's movie walks forward and the two face off, shake hands and head to the back. This goes on as we get pairings of Arjun Kaur vs Patterson Bloodsaw, Sid Landing vs Xanatos and a battle between identical twins Remy and Logan Berry. All the wrestlers leave the ring and Tank stands alone.
Tank Edge- Now before the action begins tonight, this is my federation and I haven't had the TV time lately to discuss my match with Go-D for the Empire world title at Leap of Faith this Sunday, live on Pay Per View. Now, when I came back to the Empire, I had only one goal, and that was to make Alexander Stone the man. I wanted to give him a match against a legend and help him establish himself as the new big thing in wrestling, and I thought I did. I was had my bags packed and was ready to go to the sidelines and maybe work backstage as an agent or something. But then Legacy came calling. I didn't want to do it, but I owed Chris Simmons a chit so I agreed to stay on. Wasn't happy with the decsion, but I saw it as an opportunity. So I said fine, I'll join Legacy, but I'm bringing in some of my own guys, some guys who've dominated at the highest levels around the world and who I know and can trust with Yumi no Kuni.
The crowd boos a little and Tank raises his hand.
Tank Edge- Yeah well, even though they eventually turned on me, I'm still happy I did it. They've been the best tag team in the world for years and now everyone gets to see it for themselves. And I explained it to the group, Legacy is the Avengers, but everyone in the Avengers has a side hustle, Wolverine goes and fucks off with the X-Men, that'll be what Yumi no Kuni is to me. And instead of this being cool, they decided I wasn't playing along nice enough and told me I was no longer welcome. That's fine, I didn't need or want to be a part of the sad old men club anyway. My goal for the last decade of wrestling has been to help build and establish new talent. If they means I need to toss on a Gorilla Mask and play as Kong Arias in Mexico, that's fine. I held the US title hoping to establish that next young star, while helping build up my own guys. And you know, Yumi no Kuni are the tag champs, Conner is the TV champ and Godzilla and Maverick are teaming with the guy I thought would be leading the Empire for the next decade in Alex Stone. I thought everyone was on the right paths, after I dropped the US title to Blake, again I was ready to step aside. I was ready to go lower on the card and essentially be a working manager. But, once again, Go-D just couldn't let that happen.
The crowd boos Go-D
Tank Edge- Here I was, just trying to have a simple gauntlet match and help some peoples out, and Go-D had to come out, attack me and then get Shane to come out and pin me. So, while my goal was not to come back and be the world champion, unfortunately, Go-D just didn't know when to quit, can't stand watching a guy like me make everyone else look so much better then him. If that's what he wants, at Leap of Faith, I'm going to make sure thats exactly what he gets. I'm going to walk into that ring, and I'm going to give him a world of pain, and I'm coming out once again the Empire World champion. And I promise, I will be a champion of the people. I won't use my name and connections to have easy title defenses. I plan to defend against the best and I'll make sure to bring out their best and ensuring the power of the Empire for generations to come.
The crowds cheers at this as Tank smiles.
Tank Edge- Now, without further ado, here's Vince Mariotta to start the Warfare tournament.
